If 2012 teaches us something about Adrianne Palicki, it could be that she knows her way around a machine gun.

The former "Friday Night time Lights" star finds herself pulling the set off in two high-profile motion motion pictures this year, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "Red Dawn." Starring alongside big names like Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth and fellow Ones to Watch in 2012 honoree Josh Hutcherson in a single yr definitely has our consideration, however Palicki kicks ass in her personal right.

We spoke with Palicki about her massive 2012 and the difficulties of discovering a date - knowing what she does about hand-to-hand combat.

MTV: First off, I have to congratulate you on being included in MTV's Ones to Watch 2012.

Adrianne Palicki: Thank you very much. It's extremely cool. I am very flattered.

MTV: You've got such a huge year coming up.

Palicki: Yeah, they preserve telling me that. [Laughs.] It's surreal. Part of it is, "Crimson Dawn" I shot three years in the past, in order that feels so international to know that is really going to come back out this year. "G.I. Joe," we actually acquired off the plane from New Orleans and the trailer was out. I've never experienced anything like that. I feel like I'm nonetheless working proper now. When we were taking pictures, it was less than a 12 months until it got here out. We knew that. It was simply shocking.

MTV: The fan response to the "G.I. Joe" trailer appeared overwhelmingly positive.

Palicki: It was a nice surprise, as a result of this can be a reboot. It's scary going into the shoes which have already been worn. We needed to do one thing really unique and special. With such a tremendous group of proficient actors, you don't want it to fall flat. How many people reached out, it is unbelievable to listen to the feedback that they're so excited, that the trailer is better than the first movie was. Just really cool reactions that you're going, "OK, hopefully we don't let you down." I really do not assume we will. I believe it should be a really enjoyable trip for everybody.

MTV: It had to be a fun movie to shoot, proper?

Palicki: Oh my God, it was a blast. Jon Chu, he is this genius. The factor that is so particular about him is that he is likely to be the most important G.I. Joe fan on the planet, so that actually came in our favor. He's younger and interesting and full of ambition. We really did issues that have been tremendous thrilling and tremendous scary, and I really feel every little thing's going to come out really, actually well.

MTV: What was the scariest thing you had to do on set?

Palicki: We did should scale a wall, but after seeing "Mission: Not possible 4," I am like, "Effectively, I assume it wasn't that scary." An 18-foot wall compared to a skyscraper. The fun factor is that we get to do loads of our own stunts.

MTV: Have been you a fan of "G.I. Joe" while you were rising up?

Palicki: Oh yeah, definitely. I have an enormous brother, so something he appreciated, I liked. He was tremendous large into comedian books, so I was tremendous huge into comedian books. He was tremendous huge into G.I. Joe, and I wished to be Jinx so badly. I don't know just if it was that she was sporting a purple costume or what, however I needed to be a ninja.

MTV: Have been you upset to be Lady Jaye then?

Palicki: Lady Jaye's a badass. I could not actually be disillusioned with Girl Jaye. She's the one chick in the boys club. She will maintain her own. She does not get the staff, however she is a weapons specialist. She has that going for her.

MTV: What was it like working with two big motion stars, Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis?

Palicki: Dwayne is sort of a teddy bear. I do know his followers most likely do not want to hear that. He could be one of the nicest folks on the planet, genuinely. Very caring and really giving. Bruce is a kick in the pants. We get along really well, however he definitely got here in throughout the middle of shooting for a week, added some flavor and left. However he was actually fun to work with. I actually enjoyed him.

MTV: How snug are you with a machine gun now?

Palicki: Between "Crimson Dawn," "Marvel Girl" and now "G.I. Joe," I really feel like I may actually go and actually hurt some individuals with my hands. I really feel like a Navy SEAL. It has been fun. I imply, I get paid to do this sh--. I get paid to shoot an AK-47 or a .50 cal or punch some dudes in the face or groin or whatever. It is a actually enjoyable job.

MTV: What's it like having "Purple Daybreak" come out after all this time?

Palicki: It's bizarre, because I am so very removed from it. It was such an amazing experience, and I enjoyed it so much. Truthfully, there's been some disappointment for me as a result of it is going to be launched and then it is not. It may be launched and then it's not. I'm relieved. I am really excited it is popping out, and I'm excited to see it myself. I haven't seen it in a yr, and I am certain it is changed fairly a bit.

MTV: Back then Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson weren't precisely the huge stars they're today.

Palicki: Oh, Josh Hutcherson. I like him so much. It's crazy. We had been babies. It will be so humorous to see myself in "G.I. Joe" earlier than playing an 18-yr-outdated in "Pink Dawn." It's simply insane. We're all just babies. Chris was coaching to go shoot "Thor" when we had been capturing that movie. It's crazy. It was so lengthy ago.

MTV: How does it feel having these two action movies coming out in identical year?

Palicki: It's extremely strange, and it's like, "OK, I suppose I will be an action star. Why not?" I'll never have a date once more, however it's cool, whatever. Men are going to be afraid of me. It is really particular, and I'm excited. It is going to be a really busy yr for me.

MTV: One of your fellow Ones to Watch is ...

Palicki: Taylor Kitsch. I do know that guy! He's awesome. I miss him. He is the nicest guy. He's Canadian, I imply, need I say extra? He also has the most ridiculous, disgusting humorousness than anyone I've met. He's so raunchy, and when it comes out of his mouth, as a result of he is Canadian and since he is so nice, it comes out of nowhere. It just makes it that a lot funnier.

MTV: Who's going to have the larger 12 months?

Palicki: Oh God, I can't. I believe Taylor's going to have the larger year. I am not going to lie. He has so much popping out this yr and all different kinds of movies. I'm actually pleased with him. He deserves it. He's worked actually hard. I'm excited to see where he goes together with his career. The thing is, he is not only a fairly face. I mean, he has a very pretty face, by the way in which, but that is not all he has.
